Whānau Protect is a service we provide to clients who have decided to end their relationship and are at high risk of being revictimized. The service involves the installation of a monitored silent alarm connected directly to the Police Station for 6 months and a home safety upgrade that is conducted by a registered builder. The upgrade may involve changing door locks and installing window locks, installing spotlights, removing vegetation, repairing broken doors or windows and putting a lock on an internal door to create a safe room. There is no cost to those who meet the Whānau Protect criteria for this service. Most landlords are happy to have a home security upgrade on their premises and we can talk to your landlord about this if you are renting.
